Police Department

The Mission of the Elwood Police Department, in cooperation with our community, is to protect life and property, and enhance the quality of life for all of our citizens.

Our goal as a department is to serve, respect and protect the citizens of Elwood to the best of our ability and to uphold the law at all times.

The Elwood Police Department is committed to providing professional law enforcement to the community. All of the officers are well-trained, and dedicated to being the best law enforcement agency they can be for the citizens they serve.

The Police Department currently has four squad cars, two of which are equipped with the Taylor Pirc Video Camera System. All of the squad cars are equipped with state of the art communications and are designed for officer safety and prompt response time.

Several citizens have approached the Police Department regarding solicitations either in the mail or by telephone requesting donations for the Police Departments. The Elwood Police Department has never solicited funds by mail or telephone. If you should receive this type of mail or telephone call, please notify the Elwood Police Department.  These solicitors do not represent the Police Department. You may reach Chief Dave Albert at 423-5411.
