Little Park

Currently the Village has 1 neighborhood park and 1 community park.  The Little Park is located at the corners for Mississippi and Chicago Streets.  Historically, Little Park served as the "town square", contained a public pavilion and was the location of many social town functions.  The Park contains many large trees and open areas.  Little Park facilities currently include play equipment, a water fountain, and some benches.

Lloyd Erickson Park

Basketball courts, playground, 3 pavilions available for rental, picnic tables, washrooms.

Lloyd Erickson Park is presently the only existing community park in Elwood. The Village has a newly acquired site that will serve as a community park in the future.  Lloyd Erickson Park is a 40 acre site located just north of the Village center and adjacent to Elwood School.  A small lake exists on the property.  Facilities include a basketball court, pavilion, picnic tables, restrooms, and a Children's Garden.

Centerpoint Park
This 11 acre planned park site is located west of the present Village center. Plans call for providing a variety of activities including social events, picnicing, organized sports fields, playground, restrooms and a concession stand..

Existing Programs

Baseball/Softball Programs
The Elwood Baseball/Softball Association currently uses the Elwood School site and Lloyd Erickson Park for practice and games.

Soccer Programs
The Village Parks and Recreation runs a soccer program.  The program previously had 130 children enrolled, and continues to increase its enrollment.  The program presently uses the Lloyd Erickson Park for practice and games.

Cultural Programs
Elwood has an annual summer festival call Community Days in September.  The event usually runs for two days over the second weekend in September.  Most of the activities take place in Lloyd Erickson Park.
