Hero School

This one-of-a-kind program is for children entering K - 4th grades. Each class will develop a heroic trait and real life emergency skills. Class meets daily July 26th - July 30th from 10:00a.m. - 11:00a.m. cost is $40.00 for the five day class. Register by July 23, 2010 (min 10 students)

Starting Sports And Fitness

Some of the sports we will explore are: dodge ball, track and field, kickball, ultimate frisbee and the Presidential Fitness Challenge. This class is a great introduction to sports for children entering K - 3rd grades. Class meets daily July 26th - 30th from 11:00a.m. - 12:00p.m. Cost is $40.00 for the five day class. Register by July 23, 2010 (min 10 students)

Elwood Cheer Camp

Students will learn basic cheerleading fundamentals, sideline cheers and a floor routine.

Where:        Village of Elwood Community Room

Day:             Thursdays

Fee:             $25.00 (includes a camp tee shirt)

Dates:          June 28th - July 1st             (1st session)

                    July 19th - July 23rd            (2nd session)

                    August 16th - August 20th    (3rd session)

Times:         Entering 1st grade                4:30p.m. - 5:15p.m.  

                    Grades 2nd and 3rd             5:30p.m. - 6:15p.m.

                    Grades 4th and 5th              6:30p.m. - 7:15p.m.

                    Grades 6th, 7th and 8th        7:30p.m. - 8:15p.m.

Soccer Sign Up

Registration for 2010 Fall Soccer will be held June 1st - June 30th. Children 4-14 are eligible to play.

                     $65.00 (each for 2 children)

Turbo Slim In 8

Burn calories and blast fat with Turbo Kick, a mix of kick boxing and simple dance moves with music that makes you want to move it!

New Tai Chi Class

Sponsored by Will County Senior Services.

A new session of Tai Chi will begin on Monday, May 24th at 10 a.m. in the village hall community room. The six-week session, sponsored by Senior Services Center of Will County will run through June 28th. The cost is $7.50 for the entire session. Sign up at Elwood Village Hall.

Yoga - Fitness

Presented by the Village of Elwood

The Yoga-Fitness combination reduces the risk of injury and helps reduce stress, lower back pain and tension.

Day:             Tuesday's 5:30p.m. - 6:30p.m.

Fee:             $40.00 (8 week session)

Dates:         June 15th - August 3rd

Optional purchase of 4 classes at a cost of $20.00 to be used any time during the 8-week session.


Elwood Athletic Boosters

The Elwood Athletic Boosters is a parent run organization whose purpose is to support and encourage the Elwood grade school sports. The sports currently benefiting from the Boosters are Track, Boys' Baseball, Spiritline Cheerleading, Volleyball and Basketball. All boys and girls 5th-8th grade are welcome to participate. Fundraiser's held during the school year help pay for referees, equipment, uniforms and awards.
